The most important day of the year is fast-approaching. Today, the names of the nominee were revealed.”Mank” landed 10 nominations but “Nomadland” is the movie to beat this year.
In the “Director category” a big surprise with Thomas Vinterberg being nominated for his film “Another Round” which is the favorite to win “Best International Feature”. Chloe Zhao is is the favorite in the “Director category” which would make her the (only) second female director to earn the award after Kathryn Bigelow for “The Hurt Locker”.
Glenn Close is nominated for the 8th time for an Oscar, she sadly never won. Funny story, she is also nominated this year for the Razzie Award for worst Actress for the same role. Chadwick Boseman is posthumous nominated for Best Actor and Sacha Baron Cohen is nominated for two different movies (Borat and The Trial of the Chicago 7).
The winners for the 93rd Academy Awards will be announced on Sunday, April 25.
