The wizards are back ! The third volume of the new franchise coming for the mind of J.K.Rowling traded Johnny Depp for Mads Mikkelsen as big baddie and is big spectacle worthy of the cinema.
Professor Albus Dumbledore knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald is moving to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?
David Yates (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, The Legend of Tarzan) is back and has no problem keeping the big boat floating, almost in automatic pilot. The film is fun and visually beautiful, the plot seems to be more streamlined as the previous ones, the only big issue is that the series could have ended on this episode instead of trying to keep on going for two more installments, the storyline seems to become more and more slim.
Mads Mikkelsen is the new actor in the role of Grindelwald (third one) and does it in a very powerful and menacing way. Jude Law is sometimes too much on the sideline and could have been even more present. Jessica Williams is the new addiction to the team and does it with enthusiasm and charm.
