There Is No Evil by Mohammed Rasouof won the Golden Bear in Berlin. Rasouof painted a film that heavily criticizes the Iranian Regime. Told in four separate stories, this film targets the government policy of mass execution of dissidents. .
The Silver Bear went to: “Never Rarely Sometimes Always” by Eliza Hittman at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival.
The Best Director prize went to Hong Sang-soo for The Woman Who Ran, Best Actress went to the new leading lady of the German cinema, Paula Beer for Undine and the Best Actor award went to: Elio Germano for Hidden Away
It is the third time in ten years an that an Iranian film won the Golden Bear in Berlin after Jafar Panahi’s Taxi in 2015 and Asghar Farhadi’s A Separation in 2011.
Jeremy Irons was the head of the jury this year.
